Can a Manager be Fun

My company sent the managers to a John Maxwells workshop on Leadership yesterday. The value my colleagues favor are efficiency, teamwork, quality etc. All these qualities seemed robotic to me.

My value which I shared in the workshop was Fun. As I looked across the class, I could see everyone’s eye sparkle. It’s like someone said something that had been missing in their life.

I had felt miserable in my role. As a condo manager, there’s a load of work and you are not appreciated for the extra effort you put in. There are many factors of the role which i find distasteful.

After the workshop, i told my mentor Z that this workshop made me feel worse about our job and I know i need a change in career.

I have been doing some soul searching on what i find is suitable. And I always know that everything will work out.

But as I reflect this morning, I thought, why not make management fun.

From now on, i will change my mindset the make my work process fun.

Well, i just have to make good of any inspiration to make work less a chore right. That how most humans deal with life.
