Self-healing with Ayurveda

I have been trying to overcome being a scattered-brain/ airy fairy/brain fog for decades. Lately I reconnected with David Frawley's books, I am trying out ancient remedies to help me be more organized, plan/ structure / systematic with my day.

  1. Hessonite ring: I was prescribe with these gemstone at Astroved.com where I got my gemstone report. Here's a picture of my Hessonite ring. I tried playing around with it and find that I am more centered on wearing my ring on my index finger.

3. Meditation

it's recommended that Vata types should practice meditation in order to calm their restless minds and nerves. However, Vatas must be careful because meditation done wrongly can be ungrounding and quickly spaces them out. For this reason, Vatas should first learn the art of concentration so that their minds do not wander.

Vatas suffer from low energy that weakens concentration. Hence, they should deepen their breathe so that have sufficient prana for meditation.(Pranayama)


Visualization, Affirmation and Mantra

For visualization, Vata people should use earthy, watery and fiery images like a mountain, a lake or the ocean, flowers like a lotus or rose, light like the fire or the sun at dawn. Anti-vata color therapy can be used like the colors gold or saffron. This they should do for a few minutes to clear their mental field.


Anti-vata mantras are RAM, SHRIM, or HRIM. Often it is better if these mantras are muttered in a low voice, which keeps Vata types energized but calm.


Vata types require benefic forms of divine energy, particularly forms of the divine Father and Mother, the parental relationship that is calming, supporting and nourishing. Protective forms of the Divine Mother like Durga and Tara are especially good. Benefic forms of the Divine Father like Shiva as the Lord of Yogis or Vishnu as the avatar and savior Rama are similarly very helpful. Ganesh can be very grounding.
